PMRC Private Ltd. will undertake research and development in frontier areas having significant impact on growth of mining, mineral and the energy sectors of the country. These areas are Strata Mechanics, Ground Control, climate change, coal bed methane, carbon dioxide sequestration, sustainable mining practices, development of consultancy and advisory services on mine safety, subsurface ventilation, fires etc. affecting production, productivity, safety and conservation in these industries. The company will also take lead for sourcing advanced technology from anywhere in the world strictly following Government of India rules, carry out adoption research for Indian conditions and be responsible for implementing the same in actual industrial situations. The Company will focus on the following areas in the first phase of its journey:

  8. Coal bed methane, coal mine methane and ventilation air methane.

  9. Carbon capture, utilization and storage.

  10. Carbon footprint analysis and remedial measures for improvement.

  11. Risk assessment and management for ensuring safety in mining Industry.

  12. Mine safety, occupational health hazards and disaster management.

  13. Ventilation survey for assessing the condition of workplace environment in underground mines.

  14. Design of ventilation systems and sub-surface workplace environment in mines.

  15. Design of air conditioning systems for improvement of workplace environment in underground mines.

  16. Gas survey and classification of coal seams depending on the degree of gassiness of below ground seams.

  17. Open and spontaneous combustion fires in opencast and underground coal mines.

  18. Determination of incubation period of panels in coal mines.

  19. Calibration of mine ventilation and safety instruments.

  20. Analysis and interpretation of mine air samples including samples from fire areas.

  21. Airborne respirable dust and noise study in mining industry.

  22. Assessment of socio-economic conditions of the people living around mining areas.
